Taurus is the second sign of the zodiac, and almost the exact opposite of the first. Where Aries rushes in, Taurus settles in. It is calm, slow, grounded in its body, and very aware of its place in the world. Taurus loves comfort and absolutely hates being rushed.
Its symbol is the Bull, and while bulls are often seen as aggressive, that is not really the main point of Taurus. The better comparison is that they are difficult to move. Like a bull, Taurus can stand firmly in its own perspective and treat it as the definite truth. The only thing they might hate more than deadlines is changing their mind.
Their element, modality, and ruling planet match them almost as well as Aries. Taurus carries its earth element quite naturally, grounded, physical, practical, and real. It is also fixed, which means good luck moving it once it has decided where it wants to stand. But Taurus is not just a huge rock on a couch.
Its ruling planet is Venus, the Roman goddess of love, beauty, desire, and pleasure, with Aphrodite being her Greek counterpart. That is extremely fitting. Taurus seeks real, loyal love, and it is deeply physical. Whether we are talking about visual aesthetics, music, food, touch, or the feeling of warm summer wind on their skin, Taurus understands life through the senses.

Taurus does not see living as breakneck movement with flaming special effects. For them, life is about existing in their own skin and making that existence as enjoyable, full, and real as possible. Comfort is essential. It has to feel good to be worthwhile. Stability is just as important. If something cannot be trusted to last or hold, Taurus does not want to step on it, let alone build on it.
And then there is loyalty. For many who are born under Taurus, this might be the most important thing of all. If something feels worthwhile, if it holds, if it proves itself real, then it deserves to be protected fully, with everything they have. But with loyalty comes stubbornness. Taurus can be just as loyal to themselves and their own perspective as they are to the people and things they love.

It can be fundamentally difficult for these two signs to understand how the other operates. Aquarius needs a huge urn to fill with ideas and experiences from the places they visit and the people they meet. Taurus needs a cozy, safe shelter where they can return no matter what.
When it comes to Taurus’ place among the signs, it is the cozy winter night next to the fireplace with your loved ones, slurping hot chocolate and watching a film that no one in the family likes to watch alone, but together, it becomes the favorite.
